Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of LinguaDoc, an add-on for Google Docs and Google Sheets that translates document and spreadsheet text. By installing or using LinguaDoc, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

LinguaDoc translates text you select or a whole file, on request, using Google's Gemini API, and writes the result back into your Google Doc or Sheet. LinguaDoc is not a certified or legal-grade translation service; see Section 6.

2. Accounts

You use LinguaDoc with your existing Google account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, including usage against your plan's character quota.

3. Plans and billing

• Free — 10,000 characters per month, no payment required.
• Pro and Business — paid monthly or annual subscriptions with a higher monthly character quota, billed in advance and renewing automatically until cancelled.
• You can cancel a paid plan at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period, and we do not provide partial refunds for unused time within a period.
• Unused characters do not roll over to the next billing period.
• We may change plan pricing or quotas going forward; changes apply to your next billing cycle, not one already paid for.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use LinguaDoc to process content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to translate; attempt to circumvent plan quotas or rate limits; reverse engineer or resell access to the underlying translation API through LinguaDoc; or use the service in a way that violates Google's Workspace Marketplace or API terms.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the documents and text you translate. We claim no ownership over your content and use it only to produce the translation you requested, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. No warranty on translation quality

Translations are generated by an AI model and provided "as is." We do not guarantee perfect accuracy, and LinguaDoc should not be relied on as a substitute for professional or certified translation in legal, medical, or other high-stakes contexts. Review translated output before relying on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LinguaDoc and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including losses resulting from translation errors. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms, including abusive use of the translation quota or the underlying API. You may stop using LinguaDoc and uninstall the add-on at any time.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use of LinguaDoc after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
