Privacy Policy

LinguaDoc ("LinguaDoc", "we", "us") provides an add-on for Google Docs and Google Sheets that translates text on request. This policy explains what we access, what we send where, and what we keep.

1. What LinguaDoc can see

LinguaDoc requests only non-sensitive, file-scoped Google permissions:

• The document or spreadsheet you have open when you run a translation — nothing else in your Drive.
• Your Google account email, used only to identify your subscription and usage.

LinguaDoc never requests access to Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any file you have not explicitly opened while using it.

2. What happens to the text you translate

When you translate a selection or a document, that text is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing and the translated result is returned directly to the add-on and written into your file. We do not use your document content to train any model, and we do not sell or share document content with anyone other than the API providers required to produce the translation.

3. What we store

• Usage counters (characters translated per billing period), to enforce plan limits and produce your invoice.
• Short-lived request logs, kept for a limited period for debugging and abuse prevention, then deleted.
• We do not keep a permanent copy of your document text after a translation request completes.

4. Sub-processors

LinguaDoc runs on the following infrastructure providers, each processing data only as needed to run the service:

• Google Cloud / Gemini API — performs the translation itself.
• Appwrite Cloud — hosts the backend that authenticates requests and enforces plan limits.

5. Payments

Paid plans are billed by a third-party payment processor. LinguaDoc does not receive or store your full card number.

6. Data retention and deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated usage records at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Children's privacy

LinguaDoc is a productivity tool intended for general business and personal use and is not directed at children under 13.

8. Security

All traffic between the add-on, our backend, and the translation provider is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to stored usage data is limited to what is needed to operate the service.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
